Mali & Jowi is an amazing duo from Kampala, Uganda with great voices doing Christian/gospel music to spread the word of God.

Real Names:

Jowi : Namutamba Joan Abigail

Mali : Nankinga stella Maliza

Education

Mali attended St. Theresa Kisubi Girls p/s, then proceeded to Our Lady of Good Counsel Gayaza for O’Level and Trinity College Nabbingo for A’Llevel. She later Joined Makerere University.

Jowi went to Nkumba and Lake Victoria p/s, Wanyange Girls S.S for O’level and Merryland High School in Entebbe for A’level. She is currently a final year student at Nkumba University.

Singing history

The two used to sing together in a choir at St. Apollo Nkuba, where they realised that they had different voices, so a fusion of these two voices resulted into the duo: Mali & Jowi. The two ladies are very close friends and live as sisters in Christ.

Currently Mali sings in The Heralds Choir at St. James Kawuku church Of Uganda, while Jowi sings in the youth choir at St. Apollo Nkumba.

Inspired by their singing talents and great voices, Mali & Jowi decided to venture into doing music in studio in order to use the platform to spread the word of God through doing Gospel and positive music.

The duo started doing music in studio in 2016, and they have released songs like Mukama Amanyi, and their latest release Saba (pray).
