Emrand Henry, singer and song writer is from St. Lucia, the gem of the Caribbean also known as “The Helen of the West”. He was discovered in 2003 on winning the Cable & Wireless “Starquest” competition in his homeland, with his original Reggae piece “What is going on?” This event became the gateway to many opportunities for the young and upcoming artiste. These included a guest appearance on BET's 106 & Park segment, and many Main Stage performances regionally and internationally making Emrand Henry a household name in St.Lucia and abroad. This also made way for the opportunities to share the stage with such greats as Maxi Priest, Kenny Rogers, Isaac Blackman, Christafari,Third World, Sherwin Gardner,Fred Hammond and others.
Emrand’s lyrics encompass subjects such as Love, Peace, Unity, Spiritual Enlightenment, and Social Issues in a variety of genres, especially Gospel with flavors of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, R & B and Zouk. His diversity allows him to connect to every culture and demographic. He prides himself on singing only his originally written pieces for which he has become very popular on the charts of radio stations as far reaching as Europe, Africa and North America.
He continues to collaborate with some of the industry’s finest and also works with the top producers in the industry to name a few, Danyl Daniel, Francis “Leebo” DeLima, Sherwin Gardner, Rawle “Rossi” Alcide, Slaughter Arts Records, Lynx Studios and many more. In 2008 he released an album titled “No Retreat No Surrender". He has and continues to release many hit singles consistently to include “Bad Man Role” (#1 on charts in Kenya), “Shaken But Not Broken", “Song for Haiti", “Set me free”, No One In The World”, “Mama”, “You Are Not Alone” and a lot more.
In September of 2012 Emrand released his album “Resistance” produced by various production houses locally and internationally.This album is filled with hits and some of the songs were nominated at international awards.The song Dis year which is featured on the album is a Marlin Awards winning piece.Lord I worship you was given three nomination nods at the Ensound Awards in Atlanta.
Emrand continues to tour the world captivating audiences making a global impact.
